"WHITE FACE" to Slamdance in Park City - December 14, 2000
Snow won't be the only white stuff at Park City, Utah this January... Be on the lookout for clowns.

Seattle filmmaker Brian McDonald's short film WHITE FACE will have its world premiere at the 2001 Slamdance Film Festival.

Among the top ten most prestigious Film Festivals in the world, Slamdance is perhaps the single most difficult one to earn selection to. WHITE FACE was one of 23 films selected for competition out of more than 2300 submission.

"I am very pleased and honored that WHITE FACE was selected and will premiere at Slamdance," writer/director McDonald said. "Many people in the Seattle film community gave generously of their talents, time and support to make the project happen and I am very thankful and proud of the result and excited to share it with the world."

Co-producer Kris Kristensen weighed in with "I'm real excited about this. Slamdance is a festival for filmmakers presented by filmmakers. It's sort of the hip, maverick festival."

WHITE FACE is a mockumentary which explores the discriminations that clowns might face if they were an actual race of people. Filmed in Seattle with local actors including emmy-award winning Matt Smith, the film is a

collaboration between McDonald's Angry Young Man Productions and Kristensen's Scotopia Pictures. The two producers are currently in the midst of raising capital for their feature film, MRS.BAKER, a unique psychological horror film in the tradition of ROSEMARY'S BABY and THE SIXTH SENSE.

What began as a reaction to the Sundance Film Festival (which occurs simultaneously across the street), Slamdance has come into its own and is now ranked among the top ten most prestigious film festivals in the world. The Festival is held in Park City, Utah from January 20-27, 2001.

After WHITE FACE's premiere at Slamdance, the film will make it's next stop at the Spokane Film Festival, and keep your eyes peeled for an appearance at Seattle's One-Reel Film Festival - the largest short film festival in the world.
