Thousand Faces... most of them terrifying. His ability to craft character through make-up and mime is legendary. And, genetic. His creepy cinematic skills apparent even in the work of his son, Lon Chaney Jr. Between them, father and son appeared in hundreds of films and birthed or resurrected such mythic creatures as Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Mummy and The Phantom of The Opera. But, has any actor inherited their ability or their prostethic gifts? Is there a contemporary master of disguise? Pipe down, Dana Carvey! Is it possible for any performer to strike fear in audience's hearts -- Hush up, Englebert Humperdinck! -- or have special effects dulled our enjoyment of old-fashioned chills? On Monday, January 6th, 2003, at 5:30PM, join Warren Etheredge and his special guest -- writer/director Kris Kristensen (INHERITANCE) -- for a pulse-quickening chat about "scary faces," the men who make them and the future of fright. After FILM RAP, stick around for SILENT MOVIE MONDAYS' presentation of THE MONSTER, one of Chaney Sr.'s earlier clasics, to kick off its Horror/Sci-Fi series. * Admission is FREE!... with the purchase of a ticket to THE MONSTER. In fact, readers of TheWarrenReport get $3 off the regularadmission just by mentioning the password: "FILM RAP" either at The Paramount's box office or any TicketMaster location.
