A Crack In The Sidewalk Premiere - 5/22/06

A CRACK IN THE SIDEWALK went from start to finish in just two weeks, as part of the Seattle International Film Festival's (SIFF) Fly Film program. The 10 minute documentary is about how Artists can impact strangers so deeply that they feel they have lost a personal friend when they die.

On New Year's Day, little-know musician, Bryan Harvey made national news. The frontman of the 80's rock-duo HOUSE OF FREAKS was brutally murdered along with his family in their home. To most of the world this was simply a sensational headline, but for those who treasured Harvey's music, a part of themselves was extinguished.

"I had a lot of goals making this film, and I think we achieved them all of them" said director Kris Kristensen. "I wanted to introduce a new audience to Bryan's music, to affect others the way that Bryan touched me, to visually capture Bryan's music, and most importantly I had to walk the tightrope of entertaining an audience all the while being respectful of the memory of these four people who now are no longer with us. I truly feel confident that we succeeded on all fronts."
